Company history...
Guia International
is a privately held US company established in 1989.
Guia is the first name of the founder/author Jan Jansen's wife who
tolerated the many hours her husband spent behind the keyboard to
create programs.
Our first product
was a DOS based product called "Overlord" which was followed by
"Treasurer's Delight".
Both these programs were used by apartment building managers and
treasurers of Homeowners Associations to bill and communicate with
their membership. Neither of these programs were ever converted to
Windows.
The last program from the DOS era was "People Scheduler".
The program was not shareware but marketed at the retail level.
As more features were added to the software, the inventory had to
be either thrown away or opened up and the content replaced.
The manual became so obsolete, it had to be reprinted.
Finally, as version 2.00 was ready to be released, the
internet became a new tool to distribute software.
"People Scheduler" was re-written for Windows and became "Employee
Scheduling Assistant for Windows". "Scheduling Employees for
Windows" was added in 1994 for customers that wanted to keep
track of labor cost without having to enter information on the
keyboard, instead entering information by pointing and dragging
with the mouse.
When the 32 bit
Windows operating systems became available, both these programs
were re-written again to take advantage of the new features.

Today we have customers in over
48 countries around the world. We make an effort to
meet customers needs and get their input to make our programs even better
and easier to use.
In 2001 we added "PictureTimeclock".
This is a free program to attract customers to our WebSite.
"Universal Resource Scheduler" was
added in June of 2002 after 6 months of beta testing in the United
States and five other countries.
If a problem is
reported, we have the capability to replace the software on our
server and have it ready for download within the hour in most
cases. Based on customer suggestions, we add features
and make changes all the time.
From experience, we know that unless the application is simple and
requires little knowledge of the Windows operating system, the
software will not be used by managers.
There is a lot of software out there that is expensive and
difficult to learn.
